Symposium CF
Ceramics for Chemical, Electrochemical and Environmental Applications
Advisory Board
Invited Lectures

This Symposium will address ceramic materials possessing functional, structural and morphological/ textural features that make them especially suitable for a variety of applications in the areas of (bio)chemistry, electrochemistry and the environment. These include sensors (humidity, pH, biochemical, acoustic, gas and odour), membranes and filters, catalysts and catalyst supports, and materials for electrochemistry and electrochemical energy conversion and storage.
Among the topics that will be addressed are:
  • New materials and synthesis mechanisms
  • Materials optimization at nano- and meso-scale
  • Theory and experimental analysis of physical and chemical mechanisms involving specific functions of materials (transport, defect chemistry, interface reactions, catalysis mechanisms, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and kinetics of processes, electro-chemical phenomena and processes, etc...)
  • Design and fabrication of components and devices
  • Evaluation of material/component/device performance
  • Cost, reliability, environmental issues
  • Advances in testing methods, NDE
  • Novel applications
